Your URL needs to be setup:

[isabell@stardust ~]$ uberspace web domain list
[isabell@stardust ~]$

Step 1

Download grocy.

[isabell@stardust ~]$ cd /var/www/virtual/$USER
[isabell@stardust isabell]$ wget -O
Saving to: ‘’        100%[===============================>]  54,83M  12,6MB/s    in 4,4s

[isabell@stardust isabell]$

Step 2

Unpack the downloaded grocy release

[isabell@stardust isabell]$ unzip -q -d grocy
[isabell@stardust isabell]$ rm
[isabell@stardust isabell]$

Step 3

If you want to only host grocy on your Uberspace (best practice since Uberspace 7) you should link your DocumentRoot to grocy’s public folder:

[isabell@stardust isabell]$ rmdir html
[isabell@stardust isabell]$ ln -s grocy/public html
[isabell@stardust isabell]$

If you instead want to host grocy alongside other applications, just leave the html folder and create the link inside of it, like this:

[isabell@stardust isabell]$ ln -s public html/grocy
[isabell@stardust isabell]$

Please note that this will require further tweaking in the config file.

Step 4

Copy the default config file to data/config.php and edit it to your liking

[isabell@stardust isabell]$ cd grocy
[isabell@stardust grocy]$ cp config-dist.php data/config.php
[isabell@stardust grocy]$ nano data/config.php
[isabell@stardust grocy]$

You will probably want to change the CURRENCY to EUR and CULTURE to de.

When prompted for a login, use admin for both username and password.

Check the update feed regularly to stay informed about the newest version.

Grocy comes with a handy update script, so just run this and copy the public files to html again.

[isabell@stardust ~]$ cd /var/www/virtual/$USER/grocy
[isabell@stardust grocy]$ bash
[isabell@stardust grocy]$
